History
He graduated from the prestigious Seth GS Medical College and KEM Hospital for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies.He was awarded the Manubhai Gold Medal for standing first in the Diploma Exam in ENT Surgery
He stood first in the Master of Surgery, Otorhinolaryngology Exam conducted by Bombay University.
He did 3 prestigious fellowships in the USA and another in Piacenza Italy.
He was elected a fellow of the prestigious American College of Surgeons and the equally prestigious American Society of Neurotology.
He is the Only Indian to live in India and be awarded an Ad eundem Honorary Fellowship by the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2018 and in Ireland in 2023.
He is the Only Recipient of the Doctor of Literature (D. Lit) Honoris Causa (2024), in the history of the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences.
He is the ONLY Indian to be awarded the extremely prestigious Orbit Silver Medal in 1994 from Amsterdam, The Netherlands in 1994 for surgeries done on the Ears, Nose, Throat and the Head and Neck.
He has served with distinction at the Lilavati Hospital since its inception and has conducted thousands of successful surgeries in the field of ENT.
He has instituted the Newborn Hearing Screening program at all the hospitals he serves as attending consultant.
He has done over 500 cochlear implants with extraordinarily good results.
He has performed numerous Bone Anchored Hearing Implants Including India’s first Ossia Bone Anchored Hearing Device. He has published the worlds biggest book on Implantable Hearing Devices.
He is an authority on Hearing and Hearing Disorders and Disorders and Diseases of the Ear.
He has performed thousands of Thyroid gland surgeries and has edited and published the largest Ebook on the Thyroid Gland.
He has performed countless successful other surgeries of the Ear, Nose and Throat.
